Based off of the books by J. R. R. Tolkien. I have not finished reading the books yet so I can’t comment on the accuracy but from what I did know it seemed as though they added some intensity that wasn’t in the books.

There were a few scenes I would rather not have seen, but overall it was a good, enjoyable movie.
