Movie Review: An Unexpected Journey

Title: The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey

Primary Actors: Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage

Genres: Fantasy, action/adventure

Length: 160 minutes.

Year it came out: 2012

My Rating: 3

Based off of the book, The Hobbit or There and Back Again, by J. R. R. Tolkien (I have a review of the book coming). I was rather disappointing in the movie, the book is so amazing so I had high expectations.

My main problem with this movie compared to the book is the book was intense and action packed but the writers for the movie seemed to think they needed to double the intensity and have many more battles then necessary.

Overall I did enjoy watching it, Martin Freeman was brilliant at his role as was Richard Armitage (and I will admit here that they are two of my favorite actors). There were a couple unnecessary and disgusting actions but thankfully they were few.
